We notice that a great many people do not know, or at least they do not practice the principles of civilization. Civilization means the state of being civil; it means to be subject to law and order; it means to be decent in all the, relations of human life. People who do not practice decency towards others are not civilized. A civilized man will practice justice, honesty and sincerity towards his fellow-beings. His language, his manners and his relations with others must be decent if he wants to lay claim to being a civilized man.

What indecent languagt is often heard on the street, in the midst of a crowd of boys, and 'even in some homes? And yet those that use this language, swear words; blackguard words, smutty words; obscene words, still think they are civilized. The use of such words by boys and men, or- any one, make them familiar with the spirit of these words, arid they carry the spirit with them, they sleep with this spirit in their hearts, and they get up and they use the same old song of bad words, because out of the fullness of the heart the mouth speaketh. "He that has not the spirit of Christ is none of His." People that use such language certainly have not the spirit of Christ. They are not even civilized. When the occasion comes they act like barbarians, even like brutes.

Every year thousands of people suffer and die at the hand of this class of uncivilized people in this country. Innocent young girls, and many others, fall at their hands. Some time we hear people say, "Oh, I am getting tired of that This beautiful residence and a half block of land, in Westmoreland, Pottawatomie County, Kansas. Or will trade for Topeka property.
