ZEEEall Sc Son GremolA, Kansas union, a girl seven years of age, a boy three years old and a baby girl a week old. Mrs. Caster was a woman whose worth commanded the respect of all who knew her and attached to her a great many friends.

She was member of the Christian church but had united wi.h the United Brethern church near her home and was a worker in that society. Her loss is felt not only by the young husband and motherless children and the circle of family relations but by a large number of friends who were privileged to know her. But hers was a good life well spent in usefulness and such lives are only freed from earthly limitations by the dissolution of the flesh to live in other and wider realms. John H. Harvey.

John H. -Harvey was bnrn near Clinton Douglas counly, Kansas, February 13 1871. He grew to manhood in Elk county. He was one ot eight children, six of whom are stiil living. In 1898 he was married to Mis's Anna Schul.

Since that time he has lived on the estate north-east of Grenola until a few weeks a-o when disease came to prey upon his body, breaking up the happy home and driving him to St Joseph Hospital in Kansas Ciiy where death came to him December 3 1000. The remains were brought this city and the fuaeral services were conducted White at ti Metho dist church amidst a throng i sympathizing friends and grief stricken relatives. The remains were laid to rest in Green Lawn cemetery with the services of the Modem Woodmen of America. In the death of Mr. Harvey Elk counly looses a young man of great promise of useful and substantia: citizenship, the Harvey family loost-s a loved brother and the young vid is deprived of the companionship of a generous and loving husband.

Before his death Mr. ll.ivey was converted arid received tism according to the rites of the Methodist church He expressed li imself as ready to enter life in the great world where Christ is King. COLUMN BY JIBS. ASJfA NEPTUNE. A TYPICAL CASE.

A few days ago a woman in Jndmia oplis brought suit for damages against a saloon keeper who sold her husband liquor after sue had told Lun not to dj sa. and had told him that when her husband whs intoxicated became temporarily insane and violent, The saloon man, however, paid no at tention to this notifiation, continuing to sell intoxicants to the Dartv in question, and even furnished him with liqior aftir he had becom drunk. Tlu woman alleges that her husband returned to his hoin from the snloon maddened by drink, and after beating her into inseusibility ihrew her out of the window to the ground eight feet below. This is a typical case. Hundrebs of wemon have had a sinvlar experience.

Many of them have not only served notice on liquor sellf rs not to fun ish drink to their husband but th have pleaded wiih them with teais in tlieir eyes to refus to fruish ih ui them liquor, In our large cities and towns in particulars a confirmed drunkard finds no difficulty iu securing all th beer and whiskey he ims nione nay for. It is only now and then I lis: I a woman brings uitof this kind. The most them who are iimrrit-d to tetnperate, biutul men, suffer in silence and iu utter hopelessness, evei doing their utmost to hide their mif-ery from the world. Subscribe for The GREETING and second, those who have looked to find everyone honest and hve beew-disappointed once or often and have turned from every man as a deceiver. But in trutli the leading impulses and chief tendencies in most men are to Tightness but all men cannot endure temptation nor are good tendencies in ail people in excess of the evil.

Most men are more or less weak. Some can be trusted so far, others farther, and some, perhaps only a few, can be trusted entirely. The best policy for anyone dealing with men is to expect honesty in most eases but always provide for possible exceptions to the rule. An honest man is willing that his actions should be subjected to tests and others must so. Yet men must be trusted, in truth, but little business is-possible without trust.

And he that is most worthy ol trust will succeed best in business. Is your subscription paid? THE Kansas City Weekly Times Fifty-two Issues Twenty-five Gents. 3 3 I 3 Kansas City Times co. Kansas City, Mo. Go to ELMER'S for A Xancli A I I Meal or Confectionery Fresh Oys ters.
