The High School Echo treasury, with which to help us meet our deficit, made by increasing the size of the paper. I Our thanks extend, also, to our faculty, who really made the box supper a possibility. Our motto this year: "Watch the Echo grow." Published monthly by the Students of the Emporia High School, Emporia, Kan. Subscription 50 Cents per Year Gazette Printer! OUIl CHRISTMAS WISH The Echo wishes to every one of its readers a Merry Christmas and a New Year that shall bring wisdom, school spirit and happiness. We wish that the students of the Emporia High School will get into the real spirit of Christmas.

Is the mere giving and receiving of gifts the "spirit?" No. That is only a small part of it. The giving of gratiture, kindness and respect should not be overlooked this holiday season. We wish that they will not forget the deeds of sympathy they can do for those not so fortunate in life as they are. A merry Christmas and happy and prosperous New Year to you.

We can, and the Echo would like to see the other high schools boost this idea. A number of. circular letters, telling of the proposed organization and containing an invitation from the Echo, have been sent out to the various editors of the high school papers by the Echo staff. What a fine thing it would be for the E.

H. to have this convention. Students, are you back of. us in our efforts? We might have to call upon you to help us entertain our visitors, if we. should get the convention.

We believe, howver, you will welcome our move and will give us your support in this important matter. The Red Cross1 Christmas seals are on sale at the principal's office. The money from the sale of these seals goes toward fighting the "white plague." Show the real Christmas spirit and buy Red Cross Christmas seals this year. The next edition of the Echo will contain a senior supplement. It will, perhaps, have a special cover design and be illustrated.

OUR THANKS This is the first opportunity, we, as a staff, have had for manifesting our appreciation for the fine spirit in which the students showed their support to the Echo, at the box supper. You answered our call, and as a result, $56 was added to the Echo Articles for the Echo should be signed by the contributors. Your names will not be published if you do not wish them to be..
