We thought last fall we were sure of a new school house. The bonds were voted, the site located, and every thing seemed to be working in harmony and it was apparently settled that we were to build this spring, a (5,000 school house, the plans and specifications being settled upon. When the time comes for to erect the structure, new plans are introduced by which it is claimed that almost as large a building can be constructed for $1,600, with cheaper trimmings and furniture. By this persuasion some of our citizens are now cir culating a petition by which they hope to reduce the $5,000 bonds to 91,600, which we fear is a dangerous piece of business. It is sure to delay the erection of the school house, and may render the bonds already voted, illegal as the opposers to the petition reduc ingthe bonds are highly indignant and say thatifenough signtaures ar ac quired to reduce the bonds they will use their in II nonce to bust them.

This kind of work is creating bad blood, and we fear will result in there being another term of school in the old building, One says: "Letter go gallagher;" an other, "I am in for cutting down the bonds;" another, "I am In for a good school house or none." Will this kind of work accomplish any good for the town? We think not. As every body has had their say wo will speak. Af ter a careful consideration -of the mat ter, and knowing there was little or in fact no opposition to the $.3,000 bonds voted lust fall, wo would suggest that it would be a wise idea for all to standby the old $5,000, and plans, Is in our estimation the quickest and surest plnn of gettln a school house in LoBt Springs.
