Hall, Wednesday evening, for the Odd Fellows and their families. The supper is given by the two bridegrooms, Henry Schuster'and Arthur Richards. Miss Clara Ruff was a guest of Mrs. J. E.

Mathews all day Saturday and was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Joy Saturday night. Mrs. Henry Jenson enjoyed a few days visit this week from her sister-in-law Mrs.

Eli Wilderson of Bock Island, 111. Fred Rose is having a cistern made on his farm south of Hoyt. Mr. and Mrs. Chas.

Lee and daughter of McLouth motored to Hoyt Monday afternoon for a short visit with Mr. Lee's brother Alex Lee and family. Harvey Rose spent Sunday in Hol-ton. The Alvin Owens family moved from the Colborn tenent house to a place near Valencia. Thelma Darling spent Tuesday afternoon with Arthur and Francis Steward.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Liggett have given their infant son the name of Otis Jackson Mr. and Mrs.

The high school boys gave a belated Hallowe'en party at' the high school on Wednesday night for the high school girls. The party is to be a masque affair. The school divided up on selling season tickets for the Lecture Course the losers to treat the winners. The girls won so the treat will be given by this party with the usual Hallowe'en Menu for the refreshments. Ten Scottish Rite Masons of Hoyt Lodge No.

Mauzey is clerking for Foltz and Howard during their rush days. Ozra Lee was a Topeka visitor Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stadel and Mrs.

Henry Stadel motored to Topeka Saturday. Mrs. Chas. Isaac returned Thursday from Oklahoma City. Mr.

and Mrs. Issac have been visiting at different points in Oklahoma for several weeks. They motored thru enjoying the trip very much. On account of heavy rains Mrs. Isaac decided to return by Rail so reached home before Mr.

Then roads were drug on Monday which put them in fair condition again. Spalding Lbr. Co. received a car of sand Saturday.They were to have re-ceeived a car of coal but the car never reached Hoyt as it was confis cated by the Rock Island R.

John O. Connally, of the Forty-first infantry, found that his regiment was ordered East at once and he telephoned Miss Grace La Crone that they must be married. Miss La Crone and her mother consented and the party hastened to the office of Ralph H.
