We wish Mr. Tinkler buocess and hope to see the day when the Gypsum Valley Bank will have the word "National" over its doors. Why isn't there a move made toward organizing a Building and Loan Assooia-tion. As an explanation of its usefulness we copy the following from the McPherson Freeman: "Those who stand in no need of the easy terms upon which money can bi borrowed through the association should take shares as an investment, and while having a safe and remunerative invest ment of funds, will at the same time assist those who are iiot so flush, to secure loans on small and payments, thus enablcing them to help build up the city. On the other hand day laborers and small dealers and others of limited financial ability, who are paying but all they can rake and scrape for rent, will find it to theia advantage, in all respects, to take Rhaes in the association.

Then by pay- ingf in weekly dues what they now pay in rei, in five years they will have a house of their own. Paying rent is throwing awav money, in comparison with this arrangement. len dollars per montn. that has to be paid for a very poor and ordinary house, would enable the one paying it to carry five shares, of two hun dred dollars each, making a total of one thousand dollars. This share bolder could then borrow out ef the association the one thousand dollars, build a muoh better house than the one he is paying rent for, and pay back to the aasooiation, at the rate of two dollars and fifty cent per week, or ten dollars-per month, until the home is clear and the owdar would find himself the fortunate possessor of property worth not ealy the original one theaeand dollars, bat- perhaps ten times that a the value of property here has more' than doubled io the Mart two months.
