The Brantford school have decided not to send their contestants to Washington to the spelling contest on account of the prevailing epidemics of sickness in Washington and vicinity. The high price of gasoline has not effected the motorist in this vicinity, as one who had the opportunity of counting reported 58 automobiles passing through the main street of Brantford, Sunday, from 10 a. m.

of Zion at the Diamond Bchool house, was the cleverest piece of amateur work that the writer, or any one tY1 attended, ever wittnessed; each character was good. Special mention could be made of two characters, Laura Loef-fler as "Sadie," and Chas. Blethroad as "Jerry, the Outcast." They furnished high class work in their respective parts. Maime Meyer, as "Frances Lee." and Calvin Van Campen, her lover, wer very good. Mrs.

F. F. Loefller as "Mrs. Lee," the colonel's wife, was the real lady of the southern aristocracy. Walter Loefller as "Colonel Lee," was a real typical southern gentleman.

H. C. O'-well, as "James Blackburn," the villiun, had all of the stuff that goes with the character. We claim it was worth the money. We understand they will give the play an Morrowville, Friday evening, 17th, and at Palmer, Saturday evening, the 18th.
