Hollyrood, Kansas, Friday, January, INDEPENDENT IN THINGS BUT NEUTRAL IN NONE. Mud. Fine weather. Joseph Kalicky is on the sick list this week. New Year was a quiet day in Hollywood.

Colds are the prevailing epidemic at present. The schools resumed work Wednesday. Will Orr has a clerkship at K. Monroe's. -Chase Record.

Asher Ogden a tiller of the soil liv. ing near Bushton was in town Wednesday. Salesman Lee of the H. D. Lee Merchantile Co.

of Salina was in town Saturday. We are compelled by the evolution of time 10 bid adieu to the old year and to welcome the new, The dancers that took in the New Year Ball at Bushton report that a good time was enjoyed by all. rood SUN. was in town Christmas visiting wirh his brother, Bushton Star. Mrs. Calvert was called to Geneseo by a message Monday on account of the illness of the infant child of Chas. Calvert.

The billiard hall has been moved from the Kehoe building into the Pow- el! hall and Ben Buckler again takes charge. Joe Zamrzla, our city butcher is taking advantage of the cold weather and is supolying himself with ice for the coming summer. Martin Kel.oe came home Sunday from Prosper where he has been doing masonary work on a boiler in the Guldner Flour Mill. The present cold snap will doubtless temporally close the base ball season with Bushton Hollyrood and other villages to the -Chase Record. John Miles took part in the Kickapoo fandango which exhibited here a few days ago, but if John is pretty good from now on we will look over his past life.

consisting of two Indians a Mr. Johnson and a few Little River boys gave entertainments at this place Friday Saturday and Monday night at the school house. They left this morning for Genesco where they will entertain the people of that place. Our second nine got hungry for a I game last week and went up to Hollyrood Saturday, and got beaten. It isn't known whose fault it was, but our boys played the poorest they ever, and the score stood 17 to 28 This is shameful after such a record as our boys made last fall, and if they can't do better we will have to keep them at home.

Eliza Wiliiams of Sterling at just twelve o'clock in the presence of family and a number of guests, after which we were conducted into the dining room and seated at the table lusciously spread with the bounties of life.

Several presents were presented to the happy pair. May the blessings temporal and spirituai ever be theirs and their unity ever be a uuit. ONE WHO WAS THERE. The SuN joins their many friends in wishing them all that tends to promote happiness and prosperity. MARRIED.

WOODMANSEE-LIVINGSTON-At At the residence of the bride's parents, in this city. at 4 P.M., on Monday Dec. 24th, 1894, Albert M. Woodmansee and Nola E. eldest single daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Samuel Livingston. Rev. Hogan officiating. The wedding was private, only relatives of the bride and groom being present.

A number of valuable presents were received. The young couple are well known this part of the county. Mr. Woodmansee is the principal of jour schools and well known throughout this part of the State, and Bert's many riends will be happy to learn that he has left the realms of bachelorbood, and they have the best wishes of the entire community for success. -Kanopolis Review.

John Powell and wife spent Sunday with the Kehoe family. --J. W. Baker took in the sights at Ellsworth Saturday. -Joe Cummings made his usual trip to this place Saturday.

-Sam Misner drove over to Lorraine Saturday. -Charley Mayo the wide-a-wake of Claflin made a drive to this eryman place Tuesday' -Sadie Reynolds who has been visither sister Anna at Claflin for the last week returned home Tuesday.
