District Court adjourned last. night until next Wednesday morning, discharging the jury for this term. Smith, tbe President of tbe Little River Coal and Mining is in Lyon to-day, and reports tbe progress of their work with tbe coal drill as rather slow, but they are making no mistakes, and have great confidence that they will soon make discovery down there that will be of the greatest importance to Rice county. It is said a whiskey prosecution will be the result of a wrangle in the Republican caucus in Valley township, last Saturday, on account ot the defeat of.tbe so-called Republican "bosses."
