It has been determined to issue a paper this month and mail a copy to every mem bex of the association, and thus reach all, bo that Bomeone may bring this matter up in the oouncil meeting and have it decided by the members. If the rest of the counoils respond between now and the 10 of next month, then a paper will be issued monthly if however they do not respond favorably probably a paper will not be issued monthly. This is a very small item of ex In the biennial report of the Supreme Secretary February 14, 1900 the following appeared in regard to an "Official Organ:" "There has been a great demand from the membership for a paper to be published in the interest of the Association. "The management have not responded to this demand simply because they did not have the necessary funds to issue a paper.

This would add from $40 to $60 a month to the expense account. "A paper should be published monthly, or at least quarterly, and it will devolve npon you at this session to determine this matter, and to provide for the expense of publishing and distributing a paper." During the session of the Supreme Council this question came up, and the following appears in the ournal of Pro- pense to eaoh local council, fifty papers will only cost $10 a year, and you can PURELY PERSONAL. A Brief but Very Interesting Sketch of the Triple Tie's Career; Your humble servant has filled the position of secretary of the Triple Tie since its conception and birth in the spring of 1896. When it was a little wee young thing, and had no home it was taken into my home and had a room assigned to it, and when at the close jof the day I would return from my work as bread winner for a family I spent many an evening in the room with this child, sometimes very pleasantly, sometimes otherwise. The first two years of its existence were passed in Jthis room, it was not very strong and robust, and a good many good people thought it doubtful if it would live through its infancy, and at times, as its nearest and dearest friend, was inclined to share their doubts, and I will admit now that at times I wished it had never been born, but through constant association with it, I became bo mnoh interested in it that I longed to see it live and grow strong and healthy and vigorous, but very few people outside of its immediate relatives in Augusta, Clay Center, Kansas City and Waterville took any interest in the poor ohild, not even enough to enquire certainly afford to vote that much out of your council fund.

The Board believes that all of the coun oils will subscribe for the paper when they fully understand the situation, and it is presented to them at their meetings which will surely be done now.

Please take action on this and advise the Quite a number of fraternal insurance Supreme Seoretary before May 10. Good Organisers Wanted. This association wants from ten to fifty societies have adopted some kind of a Reserve Fund, and those that have not done so, are looking forward to such action, because the managers know that it must be done, it is the safety valve of fraternal "The question of publishing a paper for the Association was called up by Brother Delaney. After a general discussion of the subject the Supreme Secretary wanted to know how many councils would sub-soribf for a paper to be mailed direct to eaoh member of the oouncil, the price to be 20 cents a year for each member. Nearly all of the delegates present pledged their councils to subscribe for the paper on above terms.

Brother Marshman moved "that the Advisory Board be instructed to have the seoretary correspond with the counoils and find out how many would subscribe for a paper, and if a sufficient number would take it, to have the secretary publish a paper monthly and mail member;" motion carried. In compliance with this resolution the Advisory Board directed the secretary tp correspond with the councils as directed good reliable men and women to organize councils in Kansas, and to those who know how to approach people and get their attention and to present the matter properly The Triple Tie was built with this safety we can give permanent employment on terms that they can make good incomes appliance attached, and in order to make it doubly safe the same provisions were made for creating an additional safety from. valve in the nature of a Reserve Fond. When the second anniversary of its birth came in February, 1898, overjforty of its friends from twenty-two different towns assembled in Clay Center to pay their respects, they were well pleased with the child and decided that it should set up a home of its own, and moved it from my home down town. On the occasion of its fourth birthday over seventy-five members of the family assembled in Emporia to do honor to this child, and many of them were pleased to find it had grown so strong and vigorous, and were surprised to learn that it had assisted twenty-eight members of the family that were in distress to the amount of nearly $28,000, and had in bank for a rainy day over $6,000, in addition to'hav-ing olothed itself and paid for its board and lodging.

Sometime some member who is in the habit of letting his payment inn over until the 5th, 10th or 15th of the neit month will die in this time, then who will be liable? Certainly not this order.

$60 of this would be placed in the Emergency fund which is used to pay death claims only. As his payments were only $7.20 a year this sum will pay them over eight years in advance. $60 would be placed in the Reserve Fond, if this will earn 5 per cent, interest it will continue to pay $3 a year or nearly one-half the amount he paid during life, and the account is never closed. three months.
