A SKETCH OF THE LIFE OF MOTHER HANSON, Catherine Hanson, daughter of Jacob and Mary Ann Shul'z, was born neat Taswell, Clsyborn county, Tenn.

Febuary 5th, 1794. Soon after they moved to Kentucky, on the Kentucky River.where they lived five years. Then moved down the Kentucky River in a fiat-boat and settled in Monroe county, Ind'ana and lived there fifteen years, then moved to Shelby county Illinois, Oc. 1833, where she resided" until 1870, when she moved to Karsas. She bas ra'sed twelve children, six whom are stiH living.

Four ot hereon were in the Union Army during the war of lbs Rebellion. She united with the Methodist Church when better tbau twenty eai a old, of which she has since been a constant member. Mother Hanson's death took plnce at the residence of her son, Mf.r'in, Thursday evening Jan. 16th, at 0 o'dock. Being the result of extreme old age, the whef Is of life ceasing their motion finta sheer exhaustion; and 'like a shock of wheat fully ripe," she has been gathered and garnered in the hervest home of the blood washed.

For several years she hr been utterly helpless, and the duty of ministering to her wacti, during this period of her lingering decre p'tude, has frllen upon a dutiful Mr. M. Hanson, instead rf regarding it as an irksome taik, hes cheerfully borne the burden as a matter of privilege anjd filial affection; and his devotion in this respect lias been truly commendable. 8i, s.
