Owing to the raing weather, Sun day uight, there was no meeting in any of the churches. Gottlieb Woertz is improving the looks of hia house by giving it a new coat of paint. Mr. and Mrs. Krueger of Wilson have returned from an extended visit with relatives and friends in Michigan and Canada.

Mrs. Oscar Siebert who has been quite sick is improving some at this writing, A quilting bee was given at the home of Mrs. WTm. Bluhn last Thursday. Mr.

Roberts, the Canada school teacher, who had rented several rooms from Mr Shaver, has now rented the vacant house of I. D. Mareh and moved into it last Saturday. Mrs. Gottlieb Kreutziger of Pawnee Rock is here visiting her daughter Mrs.

George Richmond and other relatives. Ed Thompson and Sam Smith who left in July for England are expected home this week. The young people of the Evangelical church pleasantly surprised their pastor last Thursday night. All had an enjoyable time leaving at a late hour and many useful presents were received. We see Ida hasn't changed her name or home yet, although it looks as tho she went to see her new home. Protracted meetings at East Creek now. The ceremony was more then ordinarily impressive. While the'wedding march was being played by Prof. John Gilbert the contracting parties took their places beneath a beautiful arch of bells and smilax with a back ground of ferns, flowers, and rare plants. The attendants were Miss Carrie Hyatt and Mr. Alvin Wight.

Everybody is quite busy getting their cattle from the pasture. Mr. Cleveland of Marion took dinner with Rockenhaus Monday. Lela and Fay Selvy called on May Linnen Sunday. I Martha Rockenhaus is bavin? quite a time with her bruised head.
