The Marion county W. C. T. U. met in this city Tuesday of this week.

Twenty delegates from A Life of Ease over the country were present. There are six organizations this county. They are in Lost Springs, Marion, Tampa BAND CONCERT. The band concert was heard by a good sized crowd last Saturday night. The threatening weather was responsible for there not being a more larger crowd.

Nearly all of the girls were on hand to play, but not all the boys were on hand. Be it said the young ladies and the young men who were present did well. In fact the concert is a credit to this community and the band especially is a credit to any town twice the size of Lost Springs. For the first appearance Florence, and Lincolnville. One of the most pleasant surprises which come to every community came to the town of Lost Springs last Wednesday when announcements of the marriage of Mr. Frank L. Layton of Lost Springs and Miss Ruth Kuhn of Peabody, Kansas, were received. They were married in Great Bend, Kansas, last Sunday, August 1. The announcements read they will be at home in Herington, Kansas, after August 18.

Mrs. Layton is well known in this town, having taught school here three years. She is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Kuhn of Peabody. Frank is the son of Mr.

Band work is one thing at which the young folks may times become peeved at, or things may not just go to suit them and all sorts of disagreeable things may happen, but laying nsir'e all jokes to have a band takes good honest hard practice, and that is work. The people of Lost Springs and community should feel the honor of having a band composed of young folks who have accomplished as much as they have with great credit to themselves and those who have assisted, in being priviliged to have such a musical organization in the town.
