3-urnisfied 120 Ktvt York AtnuTelrphont No. il. Holton, Kansas principal and interest. You have jaid your election debts. Your creditors ask too much of you, as the chief repro sontativo of the American people when thoy domand that you ignore the murder of 250 American sailors.

I am in receipt of a private letter from a Washington nowspa-per man stating that you and ov-ory member of your cabinot ore bosiogod by hundreds of Wall stroot gamblors and representatives of "wostod interests." Stocks are tumbling bown the scalo. Why? Bocauso of a foar that you as an American President will dare ignore the inter ests of the Jew monoy lenders of Europe. "Confidence" is des troyed. What kind of confl dence? Confidence that the American poople will longer submit to the rule of the Rothschilds and their chain of American banks and Newspapers. Be a man; bo an American, President McKinley You cannot save your party, but you can wipe out the disgraco which has overwhelmed your country.

Show to the white Houso door the Morgans, McCooks and the other Wall stroet patriots whose rotton securities are in danger, and sound one note of genuine Americanism. Repudiate the curs who are slandering our manhood. Forget who elected you, and remember your nativity. It is not necessary to go to war. it is necessary to assert the dignity, and honor of -the American republic and to de clare that the Cuban massacre shall cease.

If you will take this step, President McKinley, you will find that the moneylenders of Europe will charge the Spanish bonds up to profit and loss, rather than endanger vast er interests in an international conflict. The monoy power has devasta ted Cuba. The money power blew up the Maine and killed 250 American sailors. The money, power demands that this crime be ignored; that the rav ishment of Cuba bo continued until from the anguish of the is land there is extracted enough gold to satisfy tho shylocks and pay their bonds, principal and interest. The New Time is a reform magazine, but it wears men's clothes.

In order to reform a nation it is first necessary to retain possession of it during the educational process. Unless the McKinley administration can be made to feel the pressure of real American patriotism the present crisis will pave the way to a foreign protectorate and the loss of our national independence. When coal or flour goes up ten cents, the rise puts millions into the pockets of those who arc already rich, and that's a good thing for the rich. At the same time it puts mul titudes of people on short rations or puts out tho fire In every room but the kitchen, and the rich think that's a good thing, too. FARMERS, TAKE NOTICE.

T. O. AYEE3, Editor and Publisher. FVBUSJIKD JEvery Thursday. Sntirti at poitofflct at iolfon, JCohmm ai tfcondelaM Matter, BRIANS SPEECH SQUELCHED BRIEF EXPLANATION.

As announced In last weeks issue two of Campbell University students, (said 10 bo tho best of the class) were employed to report W. Bryan's peccn delivered In University chipol on the evening of February 25th, for which service the price demanded was paid by us Id advance. Many or ders have boon received for extra cop leB of tho Sunflower containing Bryan's speech, and the failure on the part of Misses Iloltaod Deralntf to deliver the manuscript for publication, is no llttlo dlssapolntinent to us as well as damage. The stenographers were excused last week owlnur to reported sickness. but S.

W. Glasgow, editor of tha University Informer, with whom we made contract and to whom we paid the money for the speech, informed uh that the manuscript was "ready" aud would be delivered to us Tuesday morning eight pages of same having Already been delivered as "a starter." Tuesday morning Mr Glasgow tele phoned us from the University that he was "unable to get the speech." This seemed a peculiar declaration although tallying with a hint given us the day before by one of our business men, that the stenographers "bad been hired" not to turn over the speech. We went immediately to the Campbell University for further information, but explanations seemed clouded in mystery. The main excuse presented was that the stenographers were "unable to read their notes." Afainwewere told "they were unable to get it all" bow does it come that it took two weeks for them to discover that they did not "get it all?" If they were unable to read their notes why did they Bend us word through Mr. Glasgow that "manuscript would bo delivered Tuesday morning?" Misses Holt and Doming will confer a favor by answering the above query.

We refrain from making any charges of dishonor this week relative to the matter. We hate to believe that two promising young ladies as Misses II. and D. would stoop to the dishonor of "being hired to withhold manuscript" alter receiving pay for same. We hate to think that officers or professors of the Campbell University would be guilty of or even permit such a disgrace to fall upon this prided institution of learning although we learn from good authority stenographers were denied the use of a small reporter's table that they might be comfortably situated to take the speech this was a small act on the part of the management to say tho least, and apparent demonstrates that though the institution may be non-scctarlan, it presents the earmarks of being purely political.

1 iifii and I will give you rest," are his gracious words. All ye! Not one nood seek rest in the grave; and with this royal romody free as the air webroath to every soul, we can but conclude that suicide is a crime. However, Brother O'Flyng has hit tho right thought for cheeking the evil. "Making the world better;" yes, make it better by living a christian yourself, and by bringing every one you can into the blessed experience of hope in a Saviour's love. His heart was more full of the sym pathy that brotherO'Flingcraves for the poor suicide, than any hu man heart can be, and his love so great that he laid down his life to provide redemption.

"Sweet is the tender love Jesus hath shown, Sweeter far than any love that mortals have known Kind to the erring one, faithful is he He the great example is, and pattern for me." Whiting Kansas. FAITH Comments by Zul a Z. Lloyd. The writer of "Is Suicide a Crime" has given us food for thought let us think and think deeply. Suicide is taking of ones own life.

Tho taking of a life is murder. Murder is a crime. Then is not suicide a crime. "The person who commits suicide should have our kindest thoughts." Yes, we should think kindly and pity one who has fallen so deeply into crime as to commit suicide or self murder, for is there repose for they whose hands are stained with blood. Can death be peaceful to them? Better that a ship should ride gal lantly over the troubled waters into the peaceful harbor than to sink by self destruction ncath the dark and angry billows.

Docs suicide concern only ones self and have we not loving relation and kind friends. Is there no one who would like to see us better and purer? One whoso life is full of true hap- plneness who thinks not of himself but goes through life making others happy, patiently abides their day only waiting for tho death angels call. One whose life is full of worldly pleasure is never ready to welcome death. One whose life is full of misery and crime rushes madly into tho dark and rushing river of death. Life is but a day, then let it be a day of sunshine and happiness.

The longest life will end. Then let it end with the going down nf the sun like a white sail glid ing over the smooth waters into the harbor of peace. Shall not they whoso hands are stained with blood be Judged. The Father is all merciful but beyond the grave there is no hope. Do minded people think of suicide? No! they who contemplate suicide arc fit subjects for the lunatic asylum.

Mossed aro tho dead who die in the name of the Lord their's shall be eternal repose. Tho Htorms of life ore o'er for they havo glided out the storm into the calm. Nndcau, Kansas. "Thoso Republican olllcials who burned Lansing coal without paying for it during Morrill llrst term arc sincere in their wish that he had succeeded himself."
