In honor of little Miss Annis Palen, an event long to be remembered among the little folks of Gridley, came off at the home of Dr. Stoctton last Tuesday night. Miss Annis has been visiting with Miss Grace Stockton for some time past, and Tuesday evening at their fairy party the fun which they have been having, reached a climax aud was shared in by about thirty children.

Of course, fairies must have a queen aud this queen besides being beautiful and good must rule her subjects with steady hand, Such a queen was Artie Minter, and her maids were Annis Palen and Grace Stockton. Among the noted personages present were Little Lord Fauntleioy, Uncle The Gridley Star'and Little Red Riding Hood. The first three of these came together and each carried a letter of introduction in verse. Lord Fauntleroy's said I am a little fairy, My home is far away I came out kere thiSj evening, To hear what folks would say. Uncle Sam's read thus: V' I am a little airy, My name is Uncle Sam I came out here this evening, To look Into your plan.

The Star was introduced as follows: I am a little fairy, 1 am called the Gridley Star; I have not yet been gunning long, But am known for near and far, These characters were, represenjed by Beulah, Arthur and Eva Powers respectively, while Red Riding Hood was impersonated by Hazel Griffiths. These four wore very cute little masques. Refreshments were served and it was with reluctance the little folks took their leave. Those present besides those already named were: Ida, Ray, Frank and Bessie Giiffiiths, GeoVge and Frank Minter, Clark Phillips, Vlrdia, Fay and Madge Fessenden, Leslie Hyde, Hazel, Hilda, Dick and Florence Hessler, Harvey and Harry Reed, Leota and Helen Atherly, Mar-cellus and John "Tobo" Poyenmire and wife spent Saturday and Sunday at George De-Long's near Crotty. Richardson. From the Le Roy Reporter. Some of our younger and more sportive Republican brethren are indulging in considerable hilarity over what they call the marriage of old Father Demo to young Miss Pop. They do well to laugh, while they have the opportunity. The time may come when the laugh is on the other side.

The marriage seems to be so satisfactory to the parties immediately concerned, that the prospect is good for a numerous family in due course of time. On the other side, there is so much jawing and cross firing in the Republican household that an Increase in the family is not within the range of probabilities. The hilarity of these brethren reminds us of what happened to a son of Erin on a particular occasion. He came up to a pasture where a male cow seemed to have full sway among his kind. It occurred to the son of Erin howinnny it would be to flaunt a red handkerchief in the face of the M.
