Vance has moed from Fairmont, 111., to Mountain Grove, to which place he orders The Sun to visit him, Ingalls seems to have a walk-away with the senatorial nomination. Every day dispatches read "Ingalls captures another comity." Mrs, Mattie McCurdy who has been lingering between life and death for a month past is, we are glad to say, improving very fast. Mrs.

She had been ailing for over a year, which finally developed into consumption. was married to Jas Hastings about three years ago, and leaves him with a little boy about two year old, besides parents, brothers and Bisters to mourn her loss. She held in the highest regard by all her former schoolmates, and a large circle of frieuds. join in sympathy for the bereaved ones. The floral designs were profuse beautiful, offerings of the young people.

A ehort funeral service was held at the house, Rev, Bell. The cortege was long, over 55 teams, nearly everybody turned out, which showed the great respect the geople for her. She was laid to rest in Spring Ilill cemetery to-day. The ladies of the Presbyterian church Hcrton, will have an excursion to Leavenworth and the Soldier's Home, Friday, June 19. E. church society, of Netawaka, do justice to themselves and to our organ and piano merchant, J. C. Witt, should make a thorough investigation and try and apprehend the villian who tried to injure well earned reputation of Mr, Witt's organ which he had on exhibition and trial at the new M. E.

church Netawaka. We understand tbt some unprincipled scoundrel raised tlie front board of the organ thereby keeping the keys from pressing down and thus injuring the tone. We believe the trustees of the society will make no mistake in purchasing from Mr. Witt, Children's Day was observed by the Sunday school of the Christaiu church last Sunday night. A good audience greeted the children, who rendered a very interesting program from first to finish.

The song service was excellent and the recitations and other exercises wer5 all given in a very creditable manner. The flower decoration lent a charm to the room. The entire program wa of a missionary character, and was quite instructive. The work the evening was introduced by Mrs. Clark, the Sunday school superintendent, in a few appropriiate remarks up.
