E. Swkknky, M. D. Thayer, Kansas, December 19. Cored by Prayer.

Following is a letter from Mrs. Mollie L. Palmer, of Greenfield, Missouri, who claims to have been relieved from her afflictions by faith and prayer. She is a sister of Mrs. C.

B. Stallard, and was visiting in fhaye recently. Mrs, Palmer had been for several years a helpless invalid, but was die affirms restored to health by prayer at a revival in Missouri lust fall. For the glory ofGod and as a help to those lying on beds of affliction I will attempt, thoLord being my helper, to tell what has heen done for my poor afflicted body. Ibad lain on a bed of helpless afflction for almost seven long years, suffering more than tongue can tell.

During that time I doctered with eight different physicians, beside spending quite awhile at two medical springs and taking an enormous quantity of patent medicines. Instead of getting better I gradually grew worse; but I found that man's extremity Is God's opportunity, for one afternoon last September lie raised me up in the twinkling of an eye, and I am still able to stand up as a witness to the power of Christ. The healing or lifting up occurred at a protracted meeting in my neighborhood, where 1 was taken on my bed and remained about three days) but seeing my strength failing 1 knew I would soon have to leave the meetings and so borne; so I spoke through my tears and asked the people to pray that the Lord would give me strength. They did so and I felt that their prayers were answered Several days later the minister preached from Joshua tmdlfelt that 1 had clung to the Babylonish garment-had reached out after the gold and silver of this world in a manner not pleasing to my Heavenly Father, for when He converted my soul He said 'Set your affections on things above and not on the things of earth, for ye are dead and your life Is hid with Christ in God, and had also said 'That which is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God." By asking an interest in the prayers of God's children, that I may ever be kept humbly at His feet, and hoping this may prove a blessing to some poor afflicted one I sign myself a friend the afflicted and all those seeking that straight and narrow way.
