This week "The Crank Publishing Company" has disposed of its entire business, and printing outfit, (except the present head to the paper and the right to use the same, which has been retained by J. H. Berkey)to the Geuda Springs Publishing Company, which will continue the business as heretofore, assuming all the debts of the Crank Publishing Company, and carying out all of its advertising contracts and unexpired subscriptions, and collecting all bills due to the office of The Crank Publishing Co. Chas.

Southwell will be the editor and general manager of the new paper, and we request for him the patronage of the public. As we are not in any way connected with the new paper, we can speak freely in regard to the matter. Geuda Springs can not afford to be without a newspaper. A newspaper can not live on wind and maintain its flesh in very large quantities. Let every business man in Geuda Springs take a special interest in supporting this paper.

Do not say that as winter is just beginning you will discontinue your ad. until spring. Remember that the editor must have a lunch occasionally between now and spring and unless you come to his support, he will be forced to stop printing a newspaper and go to sawing wood in order to make a living, and the result will be that Geuda Springs will in the meantime wander around and get lost, and it will cost the citizens four times as much to find it next spring as it will take to sustain your paper in first-class shape. We understand that the forthcoming paper is to be Republican in politics but that should make no difference with any one, for it has just as good a right to be a Republican as the writer hereof has a right to be a Crank. A Republican is just as good as a white man, so long as he supports his paper and keeps out of office or the penitentiary.
