Thursday June 10th 1886: Delegates: Williams, Wm Reed, Chas acs covering him withVpistol in ea jh hand. Lucas fired three shots before Graham could get his pistol out but as soonas he did he fired at- Lucas with fatal effect. From a post mortom held by Drs. Lewis Willard, under the direction of Coroner Olney, we learn that the ball struck the right side just a little before the collar bone, going through the upper lobe of tho liver, passing lhrough and shattaring the sixth dersal vertebrae cutting the lower lobe of the liver under the lett side and passing out noar the shoulder ensuing in a few minutes. Mrs ucas has as yet made no different statement, and until she docs Graham's story stands good.

Pnblic sympathy seems to be largely with Graham, from the fact that Lucas was a man of very violent passions, and has at different times threatened to kill many persons in Howard. As soon as Dr Olney, the Coroner, heard of the shooting he cmpanneled a jury which went down and viewed the body, examined the premies and adjuorned to such time as Mrs Lucas, who is entirely prostrated and Mr Graham who is also confined to his bed, should be able to testify. Should the jury elict any new facta before we go to press we will give them to our readers.
