Will Strickland will keep Arnold's trotting stallion, Dayton, at his stable this season. The Santa Fe is hauling lots of Texas cattle into Elgin where they are to be grazed. R. E. Miller, Galesburg's postmaster was over with his family Sunday visiting his parents.

The singing was good and the character parts well rendered James Crosby proved an excellent colored comedian reminding us of the old days when Nelse Seymour was on -the boards at Bryants minstrel in New York. Nelse was also a long legged comical genius.

Lowery cornetist is very proficient in bringing music from that instrument and we believe has but few superiors. If the prices had been 25 and 35 cents a much larger audience would have been pleased with the performance. Harve Lowrance was farming some Wednesday. That ishewas hauling corn from his farm to Wickard's crib. He was fresh when he started in, but grew weary, oh, so weary, as work progressed.

With each shovel full he gazed wistfully from crib to wagon, longing for the appearance of the bottom of the wagon. He evidently thought each load to be the biggest ever hauled into Thayer. The Thayer nine played a game of base ball at Galesburg' last Saturday with the nine of that enterprising burgh, and came off victorious by the score of 24 to 7. We hope the Gales-burgers will not feel discouraged but come over here and play a return match, when our boys will be generous hosts and only beat their visitors a little bit. cans, splendid, per can only.
