SUMMER FAB RICS! Mrs. S. J. Lbwry has had a neat porch built on the cast side of A BOLD BURGLAR. The house of Henry Chitwood was burglarized by a tramp and over $50,00 worth of stuff was taken.

The articles stolen were a gold bracelet, a revolver, of Smith" and Weston make, a watch and chain. Mr. and Mrs, Chitwood had left homa in the morning about 10 o'clock and returned at 2 o'clock p. As they were going home thev saw a man lying in the hebge and Mr. Chitwood thought he was the burglar, and hasened back to where he had seen him but the fellow was gone.

He then traced him to town but here he lost all track of him. The thief effected an entrance to the house by raising the window but after getting in the window closed and he could not get out that way and so left the house by the door, which he left open. Adam Hock died at her home, two miles south of this place last Tuesday morning at 3:30. The deceased was born in Lancaster county, June 29th, 1818 and was eighty years and one day old at the time of her death. Her maiden name was Mary Martin and she was united in marriage to Adam Hock in 1844 at the age of 20 years. She was the mother of six children, four of whom are left to mourn her loss. Not long after their marriage Mr.

and Mrs. Hock moved to Ohio and there remained eight years, from there they went te southern Illinois where they lived for eighteen years when they came to their present home near this place where they hive resided for the past fifteen years. Mrs. Hock was a member of the German Baptist church of this city, and died in the faith, at the close of a long and useful life Her remains were buried in the the cemetery east of town, Wednesday at 11 but the funeral sermon will be preached by Eld.
