They looked up Sheriff" Frank McGrath, ot this county, and together the three men went to Cavvker City that same evening, to arrest a man who had committed murder in Laporte county, Indiana, some three or four years ago.

The circumstances ol the murder were related to us by Frank McGrath. hurriedly so that we. perhaps, have not got the points exact: It apears that the prisoner has been working ou the farm ot Smith four miles north ot Caw-ker Oity.for the past five weeks, under the name of Wm. J.S'ruttiers; that some time ago he returned to Neponsett to visit a lady whom he was courting, and was identified hy some person who informed on him. Col.

The desperado was firmly held in the clutch of his cousin who directed the girl to go for a rope with which to tie him. and turned about to light a lamp, which the culprit knocked over, twisted loose from his captor ami escaped with but very few clothes on.
