Mra. J. II. Edmunds and Mrs. Kinne man wore businoss visitors in Emporia, Monday.

Mr. Ernest Thompson and sister were Callers in this neighborhood, Sunday uftemoon. J. T. Johnston, wife and son and Mary Vount visited relatives in Shawnee county the first of the week.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Schurman, from Hill Top, Greenwood county, were the guests of Mrs. Schurman's parents, Henry Rowley and wife, the latter part of the week and, of course, celebrated in Allen. E.

Elwyne Miller and Mike Kemp were the guests of Carl and Wffl, Lynch, Sunday, Frank Smith purchased a new Deer-iog mower of the Star Grocery at Osage City, Monday. The Whitrnore family to the number of about 35 spent the 4th at Wra. Shultz. Most everybody elso in this neighborhood celebrated at Allen. A most enjoyable timo is reported at both places.

and Mrs. Howell were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. Duling last Sunday.

A nephew of Mrs. P. II. Houck Who resides in Massachusetts, is visiting with the P. H.

Houck family at present. Jonas Wayman went to Osage City last Monday to get a Deering harvester which he purchased of the Star Grocery Mr. and Mrs Riefenbark were in Es-kridgo last Saturday the guests of Mrs. Rifenbark's parents, Mr. and Mrs Hind-sley.

T. J. Waters and wife went to Lawrence on Thursday of last week to visit wtth their daughter Mrs. Flyod Williams. F.

M. Weaver and family expect to start for Washington about the middle of the month to visit Mr. Weaver's brother and family at that place. Pleas wheat took his running, mare down to Burlingame last Saturday and placed her in the hands of a good trainer and expects to have her in good condition for the Admire fair this fall. Rev.

Oaks, the former minister of Waushara is in the neighborhood visiting friends. Mr. Oaks and family are on their way to Colorado overland where they expect to be gone about two months. Floyd Williams, and wife of Lawrence, but formerly of this neighborhood will leave for Morecroft, Wyoming, on the 12th of this month where they expect to make their future home. May good luck and prosperity be theirs in their new home is the wish of the Writer.

Now that Allen has had her celebra tion, and made a glorious success of it, the next thing on the program will be the Admire fair and we certainly expect the Allen people and Brother Gilmore to get their shoulders to the wheel and work in harmony with the people over here and make the Admire fair one of the greatest events of the season. Most every farmer in the land, has, during the year, something he wishes to sell or to exchange or there is something he wishes to buy, who usually can't find time to hunt what he want3 or dispose of what he has to sell or exchange. Here is where the Journal can assist you cheaply and effectively. This paper now has a circulation of over 900 copies each week reaching the home of nearly every citizen in and tributary to Allen, Admire, Bushong, Comiskey and Miller, with also a large number of readers in and around Emporia, Eskridge, Reading, Chalk and Americus. What better medium could you secure to make your wants known? Where could a cheaper or more effective display ad or local be placed? A 2oe local in this paper would be surprising to you if you never tried it.

The next time you have something to dispose of, or there is something you wish to buy, make your wants known through the columns of the Journals-help yourself and help a paper that deserves your patronage. Deans in North Lyon county will be pleased to read the folio wing, which we clip from the Wilson Echo: "Rev. J. R. Deans, pastor of the Wesleyan church at this place, has been elected principal of schools at Glasco, this state. He expects to move there about the first of September.

Mr. Deans will be a faithful and efficient worker and we congratulate the people of Glasco upon their good fortune in securing his services.
