Every Call Attended to Personally. Taken From the Files of the Campus 1905. Students are responsible in establishing high moral standards, and in creating a healthful and helpful atmosphere for the University. We cannot afford to smile at or turn our backs on things we know ought not to exist in our midst. (Ever hear anything like this before?) At last Ottawa University has a glee club.

The Freshman and Sophomore classes are preparing for the Fresh-Soph debate. The subject chosen by the Sophomores are submitted to the Freshmen is "Resolved, that Cong Assisted by MRS. BLANCH LAMB 220 MAIN BOTH PHONES 401 110 W. Second St. Phone 636 LAWRENCE.

ress should regulate freight rates in Lawrence. Kansas. 0 the United States by direct legislation." Those from the Sophomore On Thursday night some ol the O. U. bachelors met at the Barnes-Kemper club, 1110 Hickory to celebrate Thanksgiving.

The following were present: Howard Eaisner, Arthur Wolf, Ralph Kemper, Hollis Kemper, Oliver Barnes, Dick Barnes, and Ed Pennington. All the boys but Pennington and O. Barnes had to carry papers and Barnes had to run an errand So Pennington was left alone as head cook to prepare for the evening's pleasure. When they returned at eight o'clock a sight worth seeing was waiting in the kitchen for them. A big roaster was pulled from the oven and when it was uncovered it was fqund to contain three nice fat chickens, baked brown and swimming in gravy.

(Please don't ask where the chickens came from). Another pan was pulled from the oven and to the surprise of the boys was full of oyster dress ing. Mashed potatoes and mince pies were favored dishes. Prof. Hig-gins was so kind as to donate some cranberry jelly which also was relished.

The table was soon set with a large boquet of celery In the center. The happy bachelors gathered around the table They soon had their number "elevens" under the table enjoying the results of the two hours labor of thj cook. After supper they were entertained by special music and jokes. They parted at an early hour(Friday morning) each one declaring that with the exception of the evening they were entertained by the Seves-cent Club, that this was the most enjoyable evening of the year. To cap the climax, Raisner officiated at the piano and the clatter of feet told how the square dance was being slaughtered.

One of the crusty old "batches" gave a reading In costume, and as for the guy who says batch ing isn't the life, the batchelors have decided this: "Taint no use to tag his dome, Nobody home, nobody home."
