To those who contemplate breeding road and carriage horses, or horses for the turf, you will consult your own interests by calling and inspecting these horses before making arrangements elsewhere. If you desire speed see that the horse you breed to possesses what you are breeding for.

See that his sire has produced extreme speed, not only in one or two of his get, but that he has himself produced extreme speed, the more the better. See, too, that the dam of the horse you breed to has produced extreme speed. And with her as with the sire, the more speed she has produced the more apt will her sons and daughters be to reproduce speed. In fact use the same good common sense you would in breeding any other animal. Always remembrring that like produces like, or the likeness of some immediate ancester.

PROFESSIONAL CARDS. As there is nothing of very deep in-. terest before the people, it might be well enough to see what able men we have elected to office. I give you an able address delivered by our county attorney, HStiavary: Ladies and Gentlemen: I have experienced a great many moments in my life, but I think that this is the happiest moment 1 ever experienced. why? Because I see before me such a vast audience of the genuine hayseed variety.

And what are we here for? To try and better our condition politically. And how can we do that? The only way I can see Is to scoop the old political parties out and dump ourselves right in their places. lut before I go any further I want to give a little of my experience. I was not raised a farmer, but I always took a deep.interest in the farmers; so much so that I went into the farming business myself, but I did not farm long before I was called on by the farmers to go into other business. I was in that business long enough to find out how the farmers are fleeced out of their products.

Then the farmers insisted on me to go into politics and look after their political rights. But that was a "stunner." I had never been in politics and that was a kind of business I did not know much about; but I went to work and hooked on to the blossom end of one of Ingalls' irredescent dreams and then I soon found out that the Senator's head was level on the dream question. I was in the land of dreams for about two weeks and found out that it is the best political educator ever invented. I could through politics just as clear as if 1 had soaked my head for a month. .1 jund that any man can go into politics, he don't have to be a large man or a little man, an old man or a young man, a Frenchman or a white man, an honest man or a thief; so 1 went in lenimons and if I came out squeezed that was my business.

But what are we all in politics for? To tight the monopolist and bankers for they have been playing the white weazel on us long enough. But probably some of you do not understand the white weazle racket. Well, I will explain. In the first place the weazle imagines he would make first-class hawk bait, so he climbs on a gate post and lays down and goes fast asleep with one eye open, and a hawk comes along and takes him in, and says now I got you, and soars high in the air. Now, says the weazle, I think I have got you.

So he quietly goes to work and opens a vein under his wing and begins to suck his blood. The hawk soon begins to weaken, and he has found out when too late, that he has caught a tartar. He lights on the ground and lets him go, but the weazle has got his blood and he is too weak to move any further. Now that is just the way the bankers have been playing it with the farmers. They put out their bait, the farmers bit and they thought they had them, but the other fellow had the farmers until they have got them down so low they can hardly wiggle.

Now we have got to fight the banks, and that is what I am here If you think there is no fight in me I will give you my war record and you can judge for yourseif. When the rebellion broke out I was five years old and ready for service. I tendered my services to the Union army, but it was full. Now the light was in me and it had to come out, so I went into the rebel army and fought clear through CIST! 10 OH LJ. CRANS, ATTORNEY AT LAW, Office at residence.

crma industry, but at the same time desires to remark that there is but little change now, and much less hope for the future, for the "pesky" and inferior "scrub" stock. The present advance and future indications only promise well for the improved stock. One of the lessons taught by the depression is to handle good stock by better methods, and thereby realize more money for less labor and feed. I First publication Mar. 14, 1S01.
