True he is radically opposed to us in politics for he is an on tspoken and fearless anti-prohibitionist, but we would at any time rather face an open enemy than a bushwhacker or a gucrrila. We would that all the editors of the State who are fighting under the guise ot Republicanism would come out from their covers and tell us which side they are on of this all important question of the day, Prohibition. C. E. Sweet and family intend leaving our city this week. They will stop at-Chrcago for awhile and then probably join Mr. Wyer and family at Red Lake Falls, Minnesota.

The fine warm weather of the past few days leads us to remark that Spring is here, at last, though we stand ready, if the clerk of the weather kicks, to take it all back next week. Mrs. J. Foster, her sister Miss Jennie Hughes, and her brother Mr. Hughes left Monday morning for Oregon City, Oregon to visit -their mother and other relatives.

They will be gone about three months. If the generous hearted individual who left a big bundle of pie plant at our office door yesterday noon while we were at dinner, would but call and tell us who he is, he would receive Our thanks, if nothing more. We'll bet that Joseph Cook can fling more big words at an audience than any other man in this country, we mean English words, of course, for we wouldn't want to match him with a Russian, or German or even a Welshman. P. Iloswall, of this city. We saw the other day at Peterson Reid's oifice the charter of "The Concordia, Loan and Investment Co." The charter is for $150,000 and is to run for twenty years. Peterson and Reid have already gained an enviable reputation as square' dealing money loaners but with the greater facilities now afforded them under this charter they keep on increasing to their already large business. We are requested to announce that the Seventh Day will hold a Camp Meeting at Bismarck Grove on May 20th to 27th.

Round Trip Tickets atone will be sold from this city to Bismarck on May -19th to 26th and good for return till the evening of the 28th inst. M.J. HUNTER, Coucordia, Kas. AND WM It is needless to tell our readers to look at Peterson Reid's large advertisement. They have al read' seen that "big Injun" and bigger grasshopper going for their. office at full speed.

The fame of this office for having plenty of money at4 lowest, rates of interest have reached outside the borders of civilization, and induced these old settlers to come back to their old stamping ground to see if they cannot boi'ipw some of the needful until buffalo gets more plenty and corn gets ripe. Doubtless Peterson. Reid will give them all they want, provided they have the proper security to offer, for we know they have plenty of money to loan and they never ask the sex, race, color or previous condition of servitude. All who need cheap money will do well to give them a call. RAINS HUNTER, HOM(EPATHIC PHYSICIANS SURGEONS, CONCORDIA, KAS.
