St. John returned to his home at Olathe on Saturday last. The people of that city tendered him a reception and welcomed him home with one of the grandest demonstrations ever witnessed in that city. It was estimated that there were 2,000 people at the depot and park, while the procession of carriages and buggies was over a mile in length. The reception was a perfect ovation, surprising even the most sanguine of the St.

John men. Tonight the St. John club with banners and transparencies, headed by the band, paraded the streets. At theOpera House the governor spoke to a very large audience, all the standing room being crowded. Mr.
