THE HIAWATHA BEE January 24, 11 From Our County Correspondents i Germantown Sam Plotner has moved to Hoi ton. John Dyche shelled corn Tuesday. Rosa Trompeter is on the sick list. George Legg has been quite sick with the grip. H.

E. Jacques shelled corn for Joe Schuetz Saturday. Dr. Conner of Willis was a caller in these parts Sunday. Jess Maxwell hauled hay from the Reservation last week.

Mr. Cress hauled corn to German-town one day last week. AUie and Otto Winterscheidt have been sick with the grip. Jake Winterscheidt went to Kansas City Tuesday on business. Mr.

and Mrs. Wm. Legg visited with relatives near Padonia over Sunday. Tom Hart and Henry Horwedel of Padonia visited at Wm. Legg's Monday.

Truman and Roy Jacques of Man-ville visited with their brother H. E. Jaques the first of the week. Joe Eddy and family have gone to Wrenfrew, Oklahoma, where they expect to make their future home. H.

E. Jacques has sold his blacksmith shop and tools to Joe Schuetz. Mr. Schuetz took possession Monday. Mr.

Jacques will go to Oklahoma to look up a new location. Hamlin Rev. Chester Truex is visiting his parents. Mrs. E.

P. Gaston is entertaining Miss Schreck. Arthur Brown sold a horse to Mr. Miller of Fall City. E.

L. Sandusky of Fall City, was in Hamlin Wednesday. Clyde Straub is attending a barber school at Kansas City. Lando Burdick of was a Hamlin caller Tuesday. Mrs.

T. Eglin's sister from New York, is here visiting them. Mr. Karr's parents returned to their home in Dickinson county Friday. Elic Weaver and Milt Berkley were in St.

Joseph on business Thursday. Messrs. Kendall, Ritterhouse Ingham are putting up another lumber shed. Mrs. Dunn and Howard Stapelton have been visiting Grandpa Justine of Fairview.

Berkley Smith shipped three car loads of hogs and cattle to St. Joseph, Saturday. Chester Truex preached at the Baptist church Wednesday evening to a large congregation. Mr. Karr, Bert Lydick and Henry Kessler attended the Implement Convention at Kansas City.

Miss Eleanor Arnold, principal of our schools, has been granted an Institute Instructor's Certificate. Mr. and Mrs. Foster Reed of Morrill, visited Mrs. Addie Smith and called on Mr.

Adkins and wife Wednesday. Miss Laura Smith and Joseph Peck of Hamlin were united in marriage at the bride's home, Wednesday, by Elder Davis. The wedding march was played by Miss Bretella Whitmer. The bride was attired in cream silk. The groom wore conventional black.

An elegant supper was served by Misses Landis, Sadie Poister, Annie Oldt and Rosa Sperline. The bride and groom received many presents from the large compan'- that was present. Mr. and Mrs. Peck will go on a short wedding tour to Lincoln and Peru, after which they will be at home to their friends on the Smith farm north of Hiawatha.

and Mrs. Johnson from Nemaha county, are visiting Win. Tinsley and wife this week. Mr. and Mrs.

Robert Douthart returned home from a month's visit in Ohio Wednesday evening. Mrs. B. F. Dickinson of Everest, came up Monday to see her mother, Mrs.

Sharp, who is quite sick. Henry Smith and his son Algy, left on the afternoon train Tuesday for Texas. Their object is to purchase land. A Wolfe was seen on our streets in a trapp not long ago, and it is reported that Etta Wilder now carries his scalp on her belt. Morgan Kincaide and family re turned to their home in Mull Hall, Oklahoma, last Tuesday.

His son's health is much improved, and it is thought that the Oklahoma climate will now agree with him. A crowd from Prarieview, serenaded Rpbert Douthart and bride with tin cans Saturday evening when returning home from skating. They feasted their eyes on the bride to their heart's content but that was all. Willis Mrs. J.

P. Wilder is down with the grippe. Dr. Comer had a patient at -Baker Monday. R.

R. Harman came over from Hor-ton Monday. Parley Morris has the contract tor the bridge west of- Horton. Mrs. Comer was down to Huron Wednesday visiting her parents.

Wm. Simmons of White Cloud, was in our. burg on business Monday. Jay Hiues went to St. Joseph with a car load of cattle last Wednesday.

John Spence, the township trustee, was up from Mt. Pleasant Monday. Dr. Comer attended the meeting of-the Implement Dealer's Association.
