Ivan is an excellent young man and is sure succeed iu his chosen profession. Wood Fisher, who ha been sick at the home of his sister, Mrs. Jack McAlexander, southwest of town, for two or three weeks, was taken to the home of his brother Charley, at Topeka, last Saturday. His wife who came heie from Bonaparte, Iowa, to be with him will return home after a short visit in Missouri. The opening number of the Mayetta Lecture Cours'e'is announced for Thursday evening, November 10, at which time C. Frank Vreeland, will deliver his popular lecture entitled, Scaling Life's" Matterhorn." This lecture is broad and expansive, yet with great depths of thought, suggestive of the higher ideals to which humanity is constantly tending. The young people especially will enjoy a trip up the Matterhorn, and will be sure to find it elevating and profitable.
