E. J. Lunger and wifewere down on Cedar Sunday and ate dinner with Ream Myers and wife. A few of the close neighbors af Mrs. John Harrington took her by surprise Monday evening, it being her 60th birthday.

Ifer daughters presented her with a nice, easy rocking chair. Ice cream and cake was served. After spending a pleasant evening they all departed for their homes, wishing Mrs. Harrington many happy birthdays. 'K Pleasant Surprise Party.

Quite an enjoyable time was spent at the home of Mr. and Mi's. Frank Smith, last Tuesday evening the event being a surprise party, given in honor of Miss Ethel Warning, of Holton, Kansas. Miss Warning was a former teacher at the Bell, and her scholars took this advantage of show ing her that they had nor forgotten her. Late in the evening, refresh ments, consisting of ice cream and cake were served, after which all de parted for their homes, feeling that they had spent a most pleasant even inpr.
