Best pills for Constipation, best for Sick Headache, bet for Sour Stemach. They never gripe. Republican Ranks. Toaeka, Jan. 17.

Senator Taylor of Wyandotte couuty, Populist; Senator O'Brien of Sedgwick county, Democrat; and three Democratic members of the lower house, joined the Republicans this afternoon and participated in their joint convention for Btate printer. The Popu lists v-eie taken by surprise. Although no election followed, the combine had 84 votes on Joint one more than enough to elect either a state printer or a senator. The appearance ol O'Bi ien and Taylor in juint convention has given the Pupu-lists much concern. The Democrats can prevent any election by the Republicans either of a state printer or United States senater, as there ate only 70 votes without them aud 83 are necessary to a choice.

Negotiations are now pending for a compromise which will give the state printer to one party ami the Uuited States senator to another. Both parties, however, are demanding the senator, and a deadlock will probably follow. Two state printers will likely be the result.
