3. of a New Year, I wish all of your Letters from Little Girls ClIETOPA, December 20, 1876. Mb. John B. Fast Learning A Department for Boys and Girls.

We appropriate this page to boys and girls, and if they do not take full possession of it I will write Borne for them, and so 1 will call their attention to that you are about to publish a paper and wish the boys and girls to write some. 1 will send you little readers a happy New Year. I am going to school, and Pa and Ma says I am learning very fast. I am studying reading, writing, spelling, geography and arithmetic. I am getting along well with them.

I have a sister Lula that goes to school with me. She is five years old and I am eight. Ma says I am not big enough to write, but I wanted to say some this letter, and it you think it worthy you may publish it. I am but a young girl. I have no father or mother, they are both dead.

Dear Mr. Fast I understand that you are about to publish a paper, and have a department in it for the boys and girls; so I thought I would write you a few lines, and as it is the beginning step on the toe that you know has a corn on it. and see if yoi haven't occasion to dodge.
