16 THE SCHOOL NEWS September, 1907 director of music in Central University, Pella, for two years. He then took a course in postgraduate work in the Bush-Temple Conservatory of Chicago. He accepted the directorship of music in Amity college and served there for three years. He then went to Europe and pursued his studies under Prof. Maver-Mahn of the Scharwenka Conservator', of Berlin, Germany.
