Washburn and Baker met on the Washburn grounds Friday afternoon in Washburn's first intercollegiate foot-ball game. Baker came with the experience of several contests to aid her and with the confidence born of recent victory. Washburn lined up each player confident of his own ability and determined to do his best. Baker won choice of sides and took the western goal which was favored by a high wind. Game was called at 3:2, Washburn having first "kick off." If the team had worked to the end of the first half as they did for the first ten minutes the score would have been different. But they were not used to such hard work and the better training of the Baker team soon told against them. Steadily the ball neared the home goal and only twenty minutes after the beginning of the game Goodale was pushed across the line and Baker made the first touch down. Good-ale kicked a pretty goal and the ball was sent back for a new start. Washburn soon lost the ball and in eight minutes it was again forced across the goal.

A second pretty kick by Goodale and the score reads 1 2 for Baker. At the stage of the game Storrs goes out with a sprained wrist and Washburn looses heart and hope. Tucker takes his place at halfback. Two more touch downs and Loin Steak 12c. Veal Roan 10c.
