A Unique Ceremony. An event, usual, yet rather un usual took place in our midst. Obituary.

Mr. Matthew Taylor was born Apr. 27, 1827. in Taylor county Kentucky, and died Oct. 15, 190G, aged 79 years, 5 months and 18 days.

He was married Aug. 19, .1851. to Miss Nancy Overstreet, to which union were born two childreu. They lived happily together for 12 years, when it pleased God to call her from this world to that which is beyond. Later in life, June 20, 1865, he was married to Miss Sarah Ann Davis, to wnich union were born seven children, of which five are living.

The deceased moved from Iowa to Kansas 23 years ago and has been a resident of Ottawa county ever since. lie leaves a wife and seven children to mourn his death. He was 3 faithful and consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, a loving husband, a kind father, and beloved by all who knew him; but it pleased the Heavenly Father to take him to his heavenly reward. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rpst their labors; and their works do follow them Hev. 14:13.

The funeral services were conducted by H. W. Wolf, pastor tf the M. E. Church at Wells.

The remains were laid to rest in the Niles cemetery. Ned Stickley left yesterday morning for Alton, Kansas, where he will make his future home. Shepard Co. will soon have a car of Colorado potatoes; call and get prices. KANSAS.
