Delia. Evangelical Camp Meeting. The Evangelical camp meeting began at Walker's grove on Wednesday evening. The meeting continues over Sunday. Bishop W.

Horn, of Cleveland, Ohio, is in attendance and will preach several times. He will preach the Sunday morning sermon. The afternoon and night services will be English. There are seventeen tents on the ground. The services are held under the large tabernacle.

Everybody is invited to attend. Liquor Cases. Judge Musgrove has been busy the past week trying liquor cases. Mrs. Barbara Haist was the first one brought up last week.

She plead guilty and was fined $100 and costs which she paid at once. Thos. Balding was then walked in the box, who also plead guilty and paid his fine. George Nichols stood trial and was found guilty on two counts. He was fined $200 and was sentenced to sixty days in jail.

He appealed his case to the district court. John Bemrod also stood trial and was found guilty on one count. His sentence was $100 fine and thirty days in jail. This week on Tuesday John Bemrod was again arrested. He plead guilty and deposited $100 into the coffers of the city.

Wm. Taylor was arrested for-drunk-eness on Monday evening. He is working out an $8.00 fine and costs. Paul Eby and Albert Ross, an Indian, who were working out a fine for drunkeness on the rock pile, escaped from the city jail and left for parts unknown. Pat Montgomery is staying with it, and his fine is growing less every day.

OoMt marriage, Rev. R. E. Dimond of Gay-lord officiating. The wedding was strictly a home affair, only the relatives and a few close friends of the contracting parties being present.

The ceremony was performed at 1 o'clock p. following which an elegant wedding dinner was served. The wedding presents were numerous, and the congratulations and good wishes to the newly wedded pair, abundant and sincere. The bride is a worthy daughter of those good people, A. H.

and Mrs. B. T. Bailey rented this large rooming house several weeks ago. Miss Todd is now in Kansas City and for the present, will make her home there.

The Clifton is on Walnut St. between 5th and 6th streets. Indian Celebration. There will be a grand celebration on the Pottawatomie reservation at Nadeau on next Monday, September 3rd. This is the opening day of the Indian school.

The indians will play ball and indulge in many of their native games. One of the features will be a barbecue. Miss Dot De Morrow, of St. Joseph, will give an exhibition of skirt dancing and grotesque work. There will be pony and foot races.

26, 1900, Daniel Rosdale and Jennie Montgomery, at the Pleasant Grove United Brethren church, nine miles northwest of Holton. The ceremony took place at the close of the morning service in the presence of a large audidence. The pastor, Rev. R. Merideth officiated.

Dinner was served at C. Stick's one and a half miles from the church, a goodly number of friends partook of the sumptous meal. About 4 o'clock p.m. Mr. and Mrs.

Rosdale started for Chicago. They will return in thirty days and reside in this community. J. R. M.

Campbell University. Fall term opens Tuesday, September 4, The indications are that next year Campbell University will have the largest attendance in its history. The school is now in better condition for work than ever before. During the summer the buildings have been overhauled and renovated. The courses have been revised and Campbell University has now a course as thorough as that of any State University.

The Normal Course leads to a state certiflcatergood anywhere in Kansas. Thorough work is done in all classes. The courses in Law, Bookkeeping, Shorthand, Music, Elocution, Art, are all in charge of experienced teachers. The classes in the common branches are taught by the regular professors.
