Imagine yourself standing on some prominent point of upland where you can look in any direction as far as the eye can see, here a creek on one side, winding its way, back for miles into the country, and on the other side, another, andaway in the distance, others, the river winding here and there, as it courses ite way towards its mouth, the gentle rolling prairie and the level bottom lands, and then draw the picture for yourselves. As we said in the commencement, the chief object of the Minneapolis Independent will be to do what it can towards the settling and building up of this extensive and beautiful valley, and to stand by the right as we may see it. Our Principles Embody the Bight. And now to ite settlers: If you wish an organ that will help to advance your interests, you must each stand by, and help support it, and the more you do for it, the more it will do for Minneapolis, October 15. 1870.
