Coan, of Cherokee county, Greenbneker, delivered a speech in favor of his party, Friday night. Tho meeting was well attended, and the speech listened to with interest! In the course of his speech Mr. Coan said, "the Democratic party is dead, nnd. a few are still walking around only to save funeral expenses." A pleAsant party at Frank Musselman's, north-east of town Friday night, in which the elite of Morrill participated. There was "Music in the air," as the whole party were detained at the house h11 night, on account of the rain, and spent the night in merriment.

Miss Lizzie Heim, of St. Joseph, who hns been visiting relatives here, returned home last week. Miss Offut of this place accompanying her for the purpose of visiting relatives there. Mr. Sentnau of Kansas City, who ownes land in this vicinity, arrived yesterday.
