To-day was a damp, gloomy day, in every feature and a credit truly to those who were its managers. Oysters, well prepared, were served in every variety, and the large number of guests partook with relish. A notable feature of the costumes worn was pink neckties furnished the gentlemen present by a committee of ladies for that purpose. The ladiis also wore pink aprons and caps with collars and cuffs to match. Socially the affair was all that could have-been expected.

Those present who were not members of the society were made to feel the welcome extended toward them with an appreciation not soon to be forgotten. The art gallery was an interesting feature. In it we had a representative of many things in real life that were quite grotesque items too numerous to mention, but should this society have another entertainment of the kind we advise every one to attend and learn the lessons inculcated in this ing away one day last week, but in their frantic break for liberty they came in contact with a tree at the corner of the Baxter bank and thus the runaway terminated with no damage save to the wagon.
