LOCAL MISCELLANY. The individual who has conquered under complete subjugation self, and has acquired the nack of attending strictly to his own business, is a greater hero than he who would conquer the whole world by the sword. The band boys were practicing on Monday evening last, but whether they were wrestling with "Jennie Put the Kettle On" or the "Sweet Bye and Bye" we were unable to determine owing to the distance from them. But then the boys can discourse some sweet music, and the citizens should be justly proud of their band. Neosho did the right thing when it voted downhe whisky traffic in that beautiful city.

Now if other places throughout the entire country wonld but follow suit, broken-hearted wives and ragged and hungry children would grow beautifully less iu a short space of time, and instead of misery and hunger peace and plenty would be the happy and final result. The Baxter Springs Investment company moved its office fixtures Monday into the company's new building west side Military street and is now comfortably settled and are prepared to put ca airs in true metropolitan style. rThe Springs hotel, medical springs, springs park and bath house will in a few days, be delivered to the company which has recently been organized for the purpose of owning and developing these valuable franchises; known as the "Baxter SpriDgs, Hotel, Park and Springs company." The park, bath house and springs will immediately be put in first class order and kept under proper control. No person will be allowed to water horses at the springs nor dip water with pails to fill barrels, etc. No loafing will be tolerated about the springs or within the park.

No one will be allowed in this park but ladies and children or gentlemen when accompanied by them. iu building homes, which will be paid back to the association iu a given time, say five to seven years, and the party own his or her house instead of the landlord.
