Mr. F. Tucker telephoned the Herald at midnight Saturday from Galena the particulars of a serious cutting- affray that occurred there a short time before. It seems that a fellow named Dutchy Weber was jealous of the attentions Georg-e Goodenough was paying to a soiled dove whom he was in love with.1 They met in a restaurant and after a few: words had passed between them, Weber whipped out a knife and began cutting1 Goodenough. After his antagonist had fallen fainting to the floor, Weber es caped from the room, but was afterward captured by the police.

Goodenough was conveyed to a room and a physician summoned. It was found he was seriously stabbed, the knife entering, between the fourth and fifth rib. There is no hope of his recovery. "With pleasure!" "Shall I embrace you?" "Yes, please." "Shall I squeeze you?" "Yes a tighter that's right thanks." "You must wear this ring till I come again." "Indeed I will, and 'I'm very much obliged to you." "Good night, dear." "Goodnight I'm so so much obliged to you." And Archibald, ungrateful wretch, withes in his heart she had pouted and "kicked" in the good old way.
