Y. M. C. A. NOTRS.

Mr. Tyler led, what was probably the best discussional meeting of the year on February 5. The subject was, "My Responsibility to my Par ents." Because of the small number present each boy talked on some topic. Some of these topics were, "Do you consider yourself responsible to your parents for your conduct?" "Have you any conception of what your parents have done for you?" "And should you counsel with your parents?" Each of these was clinched very forcibly in Mr. Tyler's clean-cut, specific way of talking.

"We want Mr. Tyler to lead often," was the boys' verdict. Another one of the "Responsibility" meetings was led by Mr. Salisbury. The subject was "My Responsibility to the school." Many good points were advanced as to why we are individually responsible for the good name, and even the very existence of our school.

The keynote of the meeting seemed to be, "Watch yourself; be your best in every way and thus be a real booster for A. C. H. ALUMNI. Bertha Juencke, '16, is attending the Atchison Business college.

Hope Owens, '16, has a position as bookkeeper in the Jewel Tea Company, in Kansas City. Ertle Weaver, '99, who is head steward in the Naval Hospital in Chelcea, near Boston, will apply for sea service, if war is declared. Auburn Coe, Thelma Richards. Hope Owens, '16; Claude Meyers, '10; and Seth Owens, '15, celebrated Lincoln's birthday at home. Everett Richards, '16, is enrolled in the Merchant's Short Course at K.

U. The marriage of Jetta Snyder, '13, and George Morgan will take place February 25. Ellen Armstrong, '16, has been appointed as one of the stenographers in the House of Representatives. She has been attending Atchison Business college. Simeon Leighton, '16, surprised his friends by announcing that he and Ida Mae Nichols were married last spring.

Margaret Thomas and Wayne Snyder were married February 11. Margaret would have graduated with this year's class, if she had continued in school. Frances Elizabeth was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wood, of Chicago, February 16.

Mrs. "Wood will be remembered as Miss Shaner, who taught History and German here. Last fall Mr. Poston presented farming as a life work. Mr.

Ireland, Physical Director of the Atchison Y. M. C. started the life work meeting off this spring by giving us a real message on the "Opportunity as a Y. M.

C. A. Secretary." This talk opened the eyes of the fellows as to just what the Y. M. C.

A. work is. Mr. Ireland gave the facts of the matter particularly as to the high requirements for secretaryship. But such speakers must have their expenses paid at least.

And we feel that we owe a great deal to the business men if Effingham, who responded so readily when called upon to help raise the budget of $35 needed to make a strong series of life work meetings possible. Mr. Sorensen and Herbert Hawk deserve honorable mention for their hard work during this money campaign. Some meetings planned for the fu 7-.
