LOCAL AGENT. GRASSL-REICHENBERGER Nevin National News (Special Washington Correspondence.) Special to the Globe- Washington, D. Feb. 9- Joseph F. Ritcherdson, 74 years old, Rural Route No.

4, Augusta, Kansas, for more than 15 years has tried to have his name placed on the roster of the 122 Illinois Volunteer Infantry, with which regiment he served as boy for nine months of the civil war. He was in nine battles up to the time his guardian took him out of the army. He was then but 14 years old. In some manner his name was omitted from the roster of the regiment. Fifteen years ago he wanted this recognition.

Two bills with this in view were introduced in the House, but no action was taken. Ritcherdson is now a Kansas citizen and appealed to Congressman Bird. The latter placed the case so graphicly before the members of Pension Committee that Ritcherdson will not only have his name enrolled but is likely to receive a pension. More than 500 War Risk claims have been brought to the attention of Congressman Bird. One of the most interesting is that of Walter Ennis, of Wichita, now in a hospital, from illness contracted while in the military service.

He is married and also the sole support of another, now 74 years old. Ennis, though still ill, was about to be dismissed from the hospital, and his family were about to be homeless because the place was to be sold. The case was called to the attention of Congressman Bird who has had Ennis retained in the hospital and has secured for him temporary total disability of $90 the month. Another applicant asked for assistance because he said he lost all his savings betting on Bill Ayres. Mrs.
