NO. 4. CHAPMAN, KANSAS, JANUAKY 1, 1894. VOL. I.

mW YEAR ANOTHOR year of progress, another year of praise, Another year of proving Thy presence all the days. Another year of service, of witness for Thy love: Another year in training for holier work above. Another year is dawning: dear Master, let it be. On earth, or else in heaven, another year with Thee! NOTHER year is dawning; dear faster let it be, ln working or in waiting, another year with Thee! Another year of leaning upon Thy loving. breast, Of ever ripening truthfulness, of quiet happy rest.

Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace; Another year of gladness in the shining of Thy face. PASTORAL LETTER. "Christ is God's idea of a man." Any not studying with the Bible Study Band, can have the booklet and join the band at no expense by sending their names to the pastor. A King's Son's Circle has been organized whose members pray for young men, and seek to bring young men to the services of the church. Their motto: "They that turn many to righteousness, shall shine as the stars forever and ever." God made the heart of man so big that this world is too small to fill it.

It is the religion in the home against which the devil fights the hardest. Keep your heart fall of sunshine, and God will soon give you a face to match it. Deaelv Beloved: This letter is addressed to the members and attendants of the Congregational church of Chapman, and I desire it to be taken as a personal letter by each one.

With quite a number of you I have never been privileged to speak face to face; and now thirty-six of our membership are scattered abroad. Two are in England and one upon the Pacific coast. To all I wish to send this word of love and prayerful sympathy. God's providences to us have been most gracious and His blessings call for" devout gratitude. Not one from our congregation has been called away from earth during this year.

Life has been spared beyond our fears; and although a number of our homes have passed through the furnace of severe trial, in each case they now testify to a gracious blessing thereby.
