Arrangements for High school field, day, Thursday, April 10, are practically completed, and with good weather there is every- assurance that the day wiil ing circulated to the effect that if I am elected mayor there will be a pool hall or joint running in Leon, If I am elected mayor, I will uphold law and order and enforce them to tl le best of my ability. I will be for the best interests of the town and its people, and for the progress of Leon in every way. Unlawful places and acts will not be tolerated and offenders will bxwleak with according to law. 1 will not favor a pool hail or billiard hall uuder any circumstances. Also, if I am elected, I shall not resign in anybody's favor, but will serve out my full term.

I. Gilliland. City Ejection Monday; Two Tickets. Oity election will be held Monday, Two tickets are in the field, and with good weather a large share of the vote is likely to be polhd. tickets are as fallows: Citizens Mayor, Ira Gillihnd; councilmen, John Getter, Junes Kjs' r.

The entire program is free to the public. Winners in these contests will represent the school at thecouiv ty meet in Douglass, April 18. The fund for the prizes is subscribed by the "business men, teachers and citizens. The Leon band will play in the afternoon. Farmers and people of other towns are invited to come and enjoy the day and evening.

Frakcs of Clay tp. The funeral was held Wednesday. Mrs. T.J. Nichols, a well-known resident or Leon, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs.

OraaKee-ley, in Newton, at 2 p. m. last Sunday. Mrs. Nichols was 70 years old and was a member of the Baptist church.

She leaves several grown children and her husband. She went to Newton last fall to spend the winter. Mr. Nichols, who had returned to Leon, went back to Newton about two weeks ago. SCHOOL NOTES.
