The farmers in this vicinity are getting pretty well through with their corn husking. The yield has not been as good as expected though some farmers report an average of from sixty to seventy-five bushels per acre. A good many men have come iu from the "burnt districts," Cloud and Washington counties, and have been assisting the farmers in gathering their crops. A plucky woman from Graham couuty this state Mrs Kusau Ames, fifty-fivo years of age, passed through here one day last week, ou her way to Appanoose couuty Iowa, having walked ail the way, soliciting a mite from the farmers to help her on her journey.
