KIRWIN KANSAS Hamilton 0 0 3C 3C DC mnimJ law The Fourth at Kirwin Kirwin vs. Kensington 4 11 ORDINANCE NO. 3, NEW RECORD Relating to the construction of new sidewalks in the city of Kirwin, Phillips county, Kansas. Be it ordained by the mayor and city councilrcen of the city of Kirwin, Kansas: Section 1. That a new sidewalk shall be constructed on the north side of East Main street, abutting lots 9, A number of our business men have suggested that Kirwin should have some sort of a celebration on the Fourth of July.

There is town near us that has given notice that it will put up any entertainment, and the people e7 On Kirwin Diamond always want some place to go on that day. Even if we had only some good speaking, and a few sports and a ball game it would help to make the day pleasant. 10, 11, and 12, block range 7, and on the north side of East Washington street, abutting lot 13, and the east A Birthday Party Snnday, June 2, was the twenty-first birthday of Lee Lemon, and his parents and friends made it a day that he will remember as long as he lives. The guests came in the afternoon, and there was a general good time with plenty of music to make the hours fly. At six o'clock the entire company of about 25 were served with ice cream and cake, candy and nuts, strawberries and cream, fruit, and other good things "too numerous to mention." Afer this there was a ride to the river and a pleasant time spent there.

Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lemon, Lee's parents, had spared no pains to make everything just right for a good time, and not any one failed to enjoy himself to the fullest extent.

There were a number of nice gifts presented to Lee so that he might not be without some-thimg to remind him that he "is not so young as he used to be." Among the presents were a fine team of mules and harness that were given to him by There is no big expense, not much 16 feet of lot 12, block range 7. rnHE Kirwin boys are home from college, and will play the first game of the season. M. Tinney STAND PRIVILEDGE. Allen, Edna VanAllen, Julia Biermann, On Tuesday the Aledo boys came down and proceeded to show our young sports how to play hot base ball. There were two games pulled off in the afternoon. In the first game the Aledo second nine won a game fnom the Kirwin kids.

The Kirwin kids are a pretty swift aggregation of little fellows that J. W. Maples has been bringing to the front. They are doing good work, but the Aldo aggregation are too big for them. They won the game from this same lot at Aledo a short time ago.

The score was nine to five. The second game was between the Kirwin second nie and the Altdo club. The regular team of Aledo boys is a good lot of fellows and some of them are able to play fast ball. They were weak in only a few places and when they fill these spots with faster men, they will be able to play ball with any of the clubs that will be in the country this summer. We would like to see a good strong club at Aledo this year and all they have to do is to get in and practice to be playing winning ball this year.

Kirwin had a mixed team that was strong in spots and weaker in others. There will be good material on the ground in a few days to put a good team in the field. Landes was put in and only one score was made. The final score stood five to six in favor of Aledo. There will be another game on Tuesday afternoon of next week.

Both sides will be strengthened and a fine game will be sure to result. ren, there are left to mourn her loss, her aged mother, three brothers and Wm. Stuckman. H. A.
