M. Rob erts, has filed suit in the district court against Ed W. Shafer, asking for a judgment dissolving the firm or Shafer demanding a full accounting by the defendant of all the property in his hands belonging to the firm of Shafer and that a receiver be appointed to take charge of the business. He alleges that the co-partnership was formed April 1, 1894, for the purpose of conducting a retail butcher business; that on March 29, 1S95 the plaintiff was excluded from all participation in the business and the defendant took exclusive control of all the personal property, book accounts, valued at about $1,400. The property is mortgaged to T.

W. Kirkpatrick for $200. and M. Kirkpatrick also holds a mortgage on the undivided interest ol the plaintiff for $100. Go and boar the colored minstrels if you want a two hours' laugh.

Stillwell, traveling freight agent of the Santa Fe, was in the city today. Ten cars of cattle, feeders, went through from Woodward last night to Eskridge, Kansas. Kleinbein's engine, 250, was laid out here for repairs yesterday. She went out again this morning. Robt.

Hill, who has been laying off since bis hand and face were burnod last week, will return to work tomorrow. Brakeman Jack Hannaman, running from Paubandle to Woodward, is sick and will go to his home at Attica today. A brand new passenger coach, No. 52, was put on the passenger west this morning and will run between this city and Woodward. Conductor Jas.

As Seen and Reported by the Standard. Adam Winger is building an addition to his house in the second ward. W. H. Lawbaugh has relettered the windows in the Monitor-Pree office.

HARVEY COVERDALE. The subject of Dr. Tracy's lecture and illustrations laBt night was "The Mississippi of Intemperance." The lecture was good and the illustrations were the best yet given. Bulk garden seeds J. C.

All the latest shapes and shades. HARVEY COVERDALE. Ben Roth, son of John Roth, fell from cart on East Harvey avenue this morning and narrowly escaped serious injury. He was standing up in the cart when the horse started suddenly. He fell forward between the shafts behind the horse.

This scared the horse which started to run, throwing young Roth against the wheel, bis bead striking the tire. Savage despite the opposition against him has again succeeded in capturing the plum. A much larger proportion of the women voted for him than had been figured out by the politicians. The council will have a majority against the malt ordinance but will not have the necessary two-thirds to pass a repeal over the mayor's veto.
