David Trott, was born in Somerset- shire, England, July 14, 1844, and died at his home in Manchester, Kansas, December 1, 1922, aged 78 years, 4 months and 17 days. When a small boy he sailed to Canada jvhere he grew to manhood. He worked as a tinner in Canada and Chicago, moving to Kansas in 1872, and residing alternately for a time in Abilene as a tinner and farming his homestead in Flora township, experiencing the many hardships of the early settlers. He soon took up farming altogether and followed the occupation until February, 1920, when he moved to Manchester, where he died. He was united in marriage to Margaret Ellen Wineman, April 8, 1886.

To this union were born six children: John Trott, of Lamar, Kansas; Mrs. Ellen Cundiff, Mrs. Florence Neaderhiser and Mrs. Sara Neader hiser, all of Manchester; George Trott, who died in infancy; and Harold Trott, of Clay Center, Kansas. Beside the wife and five children, he is survived by two sisters, Miss Sara Trott, of Abilene, and Mrs.

Hattie Dickson, of Wabash, Indiana, and seven grandchildren, who mourn his death. He also leaves a host of friends who will miss him and long remember his strong personality. Mr. Trott joined the Baptist W. L.
