Before we go any farther we wish to tell our readers that one of the finest and best equipped patent roller flouring mills in the state is located and in operation in this young railroad giant city.

YYe failed to get a photo of it in the easiness columns of the Herald, however, but it is here, and don't you forget it when your biscuit factory needs replenishing. The Rock Island depot has been located in the southwest part of the city, at the foot of Olive street. It will be a commodious and artistic building and on the union plan, as the Rock Island and the A. W. roads will center there.

The site is a beautiful one and gives general satisfaction in the city. The oflices, waiting rooms, baggage and freight departments will be finished in work of the latest styles. The comfort and convenience ol the traveling ublic wil receive attention. Last year when our prospects were not near so flattering as they are at present, our people went to work and had a splendid $3,500 school house built and furnished with the latest and best improved furniture. Kow, since cur new railroad boom has developed into an absolute reality, the building is crowded too full for stterance.

Next spring, hownver, a 110,000 building for the same purpose, will be erected to provide comfortable quarters for the next generation of governors and congressmen. This is a faet. S. C.
